Six-bottle Cellar Selection

We have dug into our cellar for some gems. These wines have some very nice bottle age on them; you may lay them down for more aging, or enjoy them now:

• 2014 Kent Ritchie Chardonnay (VERY limited) or 2015 Nurmi Vineyard Chardonnay: Greg La Follette was the first to make a vineyard-designate wine from the Kent Ritchie vineyard, more than two decades ago. Traditional Burgundian techniques, all native primary and secondary fermentation, sur lies aging with battonage for 20 months. This wine caresses the mouth with the rich texture and generosity of flavor that are hallmarks of the Kent Ritchie vineyard. It has both weight and elegance, power and harmony, and bright acidity balanced by a rich weighty mouthfeel. Wine Enthusiast 90 points

Nurmi Chardonnay, from the Laguna Ridge of Russian River Valley, has a gorgeously creamy texture and tons of stone fruit and citrus flavor layers, white peach, orange blossom and honeysuckle scents over a core of lemon curd and honeydew melon, and a long, lingering finish. WA 92+ points

• 2014 Alcman PInot Noir: Alcman is a reserve Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley, named after the 7th century BCE Greek lyric poet. The palate is packed with black and blue fruit flavors, accented by earth and spice notes, with seductive aromas of black cherries, wild blueberries and pomegranate plus hints of baking spices, lilac, and black pepper, with a lingering grainy-tannin finish.
• 2010 Pagnano Zinfandel: Pagnano Zinfandel is an estate wine, from a jewel of a vineyard in the heart of the old-vine Wood Road district of Russian River Valley. It is rich and opulent in the mouth, with a spicy nose of Chinese five spice, hoisin and Sichuan pepper and a core of black raspberry, red current jelly and cranberry sauce plus hints of dried lavender. It has a strong, lively backbone with plush texture that supports a long, perfumed finish. This is the first vintage of Pagnano Zin, and our first 90 piont score. WS 90 points
• 2011 Berger Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon : Berger Cabernet is grown on our estate vineyard on Sonoma Mountain. It is a decadent, full-bodied Cab with black berries and plum layers, scents of black cherries, warm plums, and hints of violets, cedar chest, camphor, and tapenade, and a firm, grainy texture and a long, lively finish.
• 2011 Sappho reserve Bordeaux-blend : Sappho is named after the great Greek lyric poet, who is recognized for the intensity and intimacy of her verse. This Bordeaux-style Sonoma Mountain Merlot blend is bold yet sensuous - with mouth-filling black fruit, eucalyptus and lavender scents over a core of black plums, and a firm, chewy frame.
• 2011 Tò Érgon reserve Cabernet : Tò Érgon means "the work" or "the pinnacle." This quintessential mountain Cabernet blend, from the pinnacle of Sonoma Mountain, is a broad-shouldered, muscular wine with vivacious red and black fruits on the palate, aromas of tobacco, cedar and truffles, plus a waft of faded roses, and a frame of ripe, grainy tannins.
